Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for a Group Learning & Development Manager for a 12 month maternity cover for its Knightsbridge Head Office. About the role…
As Group Learning & Development Manager you will work within the HR Leadership team to enhance the organisation's performance by fostering a culture of continuous learning and self-development. This is a group-wide role based in Knightsbridge, and you will be required to travel to all stores to support the business. You will:
- Be an active member of the HR Leadership Team and contribute to the formulation and delivery of the HR Strategy
- Prioritise and lead projects from multiple business functions in Retail, Hospitality and Head Office
- Support the L&D team in establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery across all our locations
- Lead and inspire the L&D team to innovate and develop solutions that support business projects, while staying current with the latest advancements in the field of L&D
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure effective talent management is in place to enable people to grow and progress.
- Work alongside the HR & Operational teams to identify issues and proactively lead the design and implementation of solutions
- Identify and lead suitable further education programmes that are in partnership with a 3rd party i.e. Apprenticeships and funded courses
- Source and maintain 3rd party supplier relationships for identified business areas such as compliance and performance management
- Advise key stakeholders in their business areas on converting operational policy and turning into engaging education for all levels
- Work closely with the Group H&S Manager to ensure our teams are educated to operate within requirements of the law e.g. licencing, allergens, health & safety, food safety etc
- Management of the L&D Budget and ongoing review of resource
- Motivate, train and develop the L&D team and when necessary, performance manage
- Administration of learning platforms, good knowledge of LMS systems and creation of digital learning methods such as video training
- Work with the HR Leadership team to provide good quality learning and development data for reporting purposes.

We are looking for individuals who embrace diversity, love a challenge, are passionate about luxury retail and are looking for something uniquely different.
- Do you have previous significant experience in a similar L&D Management role, ideally inhouse and at a Luxury Retail or Hospitality organisation, with Level 5+ L&D qualification or equivalent?
- Previous experience of creating, delivering and evaluating L&D initiatives?
- Previous experience and expert knowledge of leading the design and delivery of measured digital training solutions for all levels of a business?
- Proven track record of leading and developing teams to deliver training and coaching?
- Sourced and worked with 3rd party further education providers?
- Experience of creation and management of projects that support business strategy?
- Have experience in coaching and mentoring individuals ideally with a coaching qualification or equivalent?
