Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for a Store Detective to join the team in Manchester. Our culture is based on inclusivity; we embrace diversity. About the role…

As a Store Detective you will be responsible for:

  •  Providing a fair and consistent level of enforcement of all Company policies and procedures and maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Identifying and advising store management and staff of any possible stock loss risks and best practice in loss prevention.
  • Detecting, apprehending and detaining persons guilty of stealing Company property, cash or merchandise;
  • Conducting regular and random searches of employee and contractors’ possessions in line with the Company policy.

The ideal candidate for the Store Detective position will hold a SIA Licence and have previous experience of security and loss prevention particularly in a luxury retail environment.

  • In addition to this the candidate must have a good knowledge of Criminal Law, court procedures and security equipment.
  • They must possess strong communication, organisational and planning skills, along with self-motivation and the ability to quickly adapt to challenging situations.
  • The working hours for this position are 42 hours a week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, inclusive of weekends.
