As Junior Merchandiser – Fashion, you will support the planning, trading, and reporting of all Womenswear departments through ongoing analysis and interpretation of sales, stock, and profit.  You will collaborate closely with merchandisers and buyers to help maximise the net profit potential across all product areas.

About the role…?

  • Monitor and review branch-level sales and stock by brand, making recommendations to merchandisers to drive sales and optimise availability.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, recommend actions on reorders, swaps, cancellations, transfers etc.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly trade packs to stores.
  • Support the execution of markdowns and promotional activity.
  • Support with weekly, Monday morning Sales & Stock Report, Brand Sales Margin Report and Current Season Sales Report
  • Analyse sales and stock at department and brand level; collaborate with merchandisers weekly to inform decisions on Open to Buy (OTB), reorders, cancellations, allocations, and stock transfers.
  • Monitor margin performance and investigate variances vs plan.
  • Provide data and insights to support buying teams in supplier negotiations, including profit and markdown funding, and space/density agreements.
  • Manage the Continuity Business and support merchandisers with Seasonal OTB planning.
  • Report weekly on Continuity performance, including sales, stock levels, cover, and out-of-stocks; work closely with buyers and brands to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Gather and prepare data as requested by merchandisers for range reviews and seasonal Lessons Learnt analysis.
  • Participate in agreeing sales growth with Buyers and BM by department, store and brand and assist in preparation of seasonal budgets by brand by store.
  • Work closely with Allocators, providing guidance and support on cross-FOB activity to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Contribute to the development of Allocators through coaching, knowledge sharing, and ongoing support.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team culture by encouraging open communication and high morale.

Is this you?

  • Previous experience at Assistant Merchandiser level
  • Background in Fashion Merchandising
  • Excellent administrative skills and IT skills (MS Office, Excel, Retail analysis systems)
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret sales and stock data to inform business decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, confident engaging with store teams, buyers, and external partners
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Good organisational and planning skills; able to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong numerical ability and analytical mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative team player, building strong cross-functional relationships
  • Confident dealing with queries at all levels
  • Understanding of confidential/sensitive issues and data
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced luxury retail environment
