Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for an experienced Buyer to join its thriving Menswear Buying department in our Head Office in London – Knightsbridge for a 12 month maternity cover. About the role… 

As a Buyer you will provide secondary support to the Head of Buying across all relevant functions to make your Menswear Footwear & Accessories sector stand out for its fashion brands and help make our customers fashion dreams a reality!  
 

• Research, prepare and present product ranges to the Head of Buying to meet the above, considering sales history, fashion trends and space allocation to products and product seasonality. 

• Establish and negotiate the best possible terms to provide planned gross margins and stock turn. 

• Manage cancellations to ensure that the stock levels at any given time reflect the up-to-date sales picture. 

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of existing and potential suppliers and manufacturers at home and overseas and build successful relationships with suppliers through regular and effective communication. 

• Effective liaison with the Assistant Buyer, Buyers Administrator & warehouse to ensure the timely receipt of goods into the stores, phasing planned intake in order to meet sales, stock, mark-down and profit targets
