About the role…
Working with the in-store VM manager, your role will be to assist in managing and leading the instore VM team to maintain the overall VM of Harvey Nichols, ensuring we are showcasing the highest standards possible to our clients.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, manage the instore Visual merchandisers day to day schedules.
- Ensure the VM team are carrying out their responsibilities to the highest standard possible.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, manage the VM store budget, ensuring there is no overspend and that all costs are quoted for and approved before any necessary works are carried out.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, partner with key members of the store operations team to ensure that there is a seamless partnership between VM and all key functions.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, create and manage a monthly VM calendar that incorporates all key information such as, rotation schedule, pop-ups and projects, stock takes, events and any other key information.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, ensure directives from the HO VM team are implemented as soon as possible and executed to the highest standard.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, lead and inspire the VM team to create VM displays that are at the pinnacle of Luxury, producing best practices that can be shared with the rest of the regional VM team.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, trial and test new ideas to present to the Group Head of VM for approval.
- Be aware of our competitors and be up to date on latest trends in VM, as well as other relevant areas in fashion and use these to inspire and inform the direction of the instore VM team.
- Working alongside the VM Manager, assist the VM Project and Ops manager with all key store activities, as and when requested.

- Good organisational, planning and time management skills and high attention to detail
- High problem-solving capability
- Strong visual merchandising skills and aesthetic sensibility. Creative experience in styling / merchandising of multiple product categories
- Flexible with ability to follow direction and receptive to constructive feedback
- Ability to adapt to fast pace reactive environment and frequent change of priorities
- Team player with exceptional communication skills
- Proactive with a flexible and proactive approach to your workload
- Agile approach to work
- Keen interest for the fashion industry
- Previous experience of Visual Merchandising within retail/ luxury fashion house
- Experience in VM planning, co-ordination and execution
- Excellent Creative software skills (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign), PowerPoint and Excel
- Digital photography skills with good sense of composition
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a Creative Visual Design discipline or equivalent
