About the role… 

As Junior Merchandiser you will assist with the trading performance of all departments through sales, stock and profit analysis and interpretation on a going basis. Supporting the merchandisers to ensure full net profit potential of product areas is realised. You will:

  • Support with weekly, Monday morning Sales and Stock Report, Brand Sales Margin Report and Current Season Sales Report
  • Review branch sales and stocks at brand level making recommendations to merchandisers to maintain/enhance branch sales
  • Assist with analysis of sales and stock position of departments and brands and review weekly with merchandisers to make decisions concerning open to buy (OTB), repeats, cancellations, allocations and transfer of stock.
  • Work closely with and provide guidance & support to Senior Allocator on cross FOB activity
  • Support merchandisers with OTB planning
  • Responsible for collating brand performance documents for buying teams across all depts.
  • Review margin performance and investigate any deviations from plan.
  • Assist with providing information and analysis to buying teams to negotiate profit funding, markdown funding, space and density deals with suppliers.
  • Ability to use the Merret and Board system for operational use and analysis
  • Gather information as requested by merchandisers in preparation for range reviews. These should be completed four times per year; twice for the main season review, twice for mid-season review.
  • Participate in agreeing sales growth with Buyers and BM by department, store and brand and assist in preparation of seasonal budgets by brand by store.
  • Assist with annual budget inputs and changes to budget system (Board)
  • Support the markdown process
  • Support on new category introductions, Kids & Sunglasses
  • Support across categories on Continuity Management & replenishment.
