This is an exciting opportunity to join Harvey Nichols technology team and take a lead on our Retail Systems. Business partnering with the retail leadership to understand their future strategy, operating model and pain points, delivering improvements and change projects to support their goals. Including (but not exhaustive) POS, personal shopping, clienteling, hospitality POS, store operations and store stock management.

About the role
Own and manage the roadmap for our retail technology, encompassing POS, HPOS, personal shopping, clienteling, payments, store operations and stock.
Business partner the retail leadership team to understand their goals, current pain points, plan and prioritise short and long term solutions to support their strategy and growth; establishing this role as their go-to with regular communication and knowledge of their needs.
Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and internal and external technical teams, translating business needs into technical solutions and ensure support and change is communicated and delivered effectively.
Own the systems architecture and integrations for retail systems, working with internal and external stakeholders to align on architectural decisions and ensure documentation standards are met and maintained.
To constantly review all retail systems to ensure they are delivering high availability, secure and optimal performance.
Understand the 3rd party roadmaps of existing systems, where they align with business goals and how we implement cost effectively for maximum benefit.
Own the partner relationship with our systems providers and integrators, from day to day support through change projects and commercial/contract negotiations, holding them to agreed SLAs and standards.
Manage the budgets for retail technologies, ensuring any changes and investment projects are supported with a compelling business case.
Plan and manage delivery of change projects across the retail stack, working with internal and external partners to build a business case, agree commercials, sign off budget, and project manage through to delivery.
To work closely with the IT Infrastructure & Service Manager to ensure that underlying infrastructure supports any new initiatives in a timely and cost effective manner.
Ensure knowledge of industry best practise, alternative tech platforms and partners and emerging trends to inform our roadmap and strategic decisions
Manage POS/HPOS Developer to support and manage our POS systems day to day, ensuring clear objectives, regular 121s, reviews and development plans.
Champion learning and development for the technology team, sharing your knowledge and coaching both your direct report and wider team to continuously improve.
About your experience
Highly driven technology manager with demonstrable experience delivering change efficiently for successful business outcomes.
Someone who thrives in fast paced, complex retail environment delivering to the highest standards.
Great communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills, able to translate business needs into technical requirements and back.
Flexible, proactive, ready to take the initiative with proven track record of managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
Ability to multitask while being master of your workload and commitments
A strong manager who enjoys developing people and building teams.
Is this you?
5+ years experience in technical roles with project, product and delivery management skillset
Proven experience delivering change in a fast paced retail environment or equivalent consumer facing business
Willingness to learn independently and within a close team environment
Ability to multitask while being master of your workload and commitments
Dedicated and conscientious attitude.
Ability to remain calm whilst delivering to stringent deadlines
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
