About the role…
As Food Merchandiser you will ensure the trading performance of all channels selling foods (Store, Online, Wholesale, International, Franchise, Hampers) - is maximised through the efficient management of stock and cash spend. You will produce and assimilate commercial management information to enable and assist the strategic decision-making process
- Report Review: Compile and review weekly and daily reports with buyers, recommending actions to meet business KPIs.
- Stock Management: Maximise stock availability across all channels and manage stock orders using OTB and WSSI.
- Trackers: Create and manage weekly and seasonal SKU-level trackers to inform the business of stock positions.
- Performance Analysis: Review Net Achievable Margin (NAM) performance and investigate deviations.
- Supplier Negotiations: Provide analysis to help buying teams negotiate deals with suppliers.
- Stock Systems: Understand and manage stock systems and data for operations and analysis.
- Own Label Development: Support the development and maintenance of the own label food range.
- Packaging Monitoring: Monitor the cost and availability of own label food packaging to avoid out-of-stock situations.
- Merchandising Plans: Develop accurate store merchandising plans and build relationships with store teams.
- Forecasting: Regularly reforecast sales, intake, markdown, density, profit, and terminal stock.
- Range Reviews: Provide management information for range reviews and compile seasonal range reviews with recommendations.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of budgets and propose annual sales, margin, and stock targets.
- Marketing Calendar: Ensure the marketing calendar reflects the needs of the foods department.
- Terminal Stock Management: Review and recommend actions for terminal and delisted stock.
- Range Parameters: Establish range parameters and SKU counts for maximum stock turn.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure all system data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Store Visits: Conduct regular store visits to understand local requirements and space planning.
- Supplier & DC Visits: Maintain relationships with suppliers and distribution centers.
- Hamper Channel Management: Manage stock allocations to and from the hamper channel.
Is this you?
We are looking for individuals who embrace diversity, love a challenge, are passionate about luxury retail and are looking for something uniquely different. Do you have:
- Experience of working in a Food Buying / Merchandising discipline
- Experience in Food / Packaging planning and forecasting
- Good understanding of supply chain processes and responsibilities across all food categories but in particular – own label food
- Good organisational and planning skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Good attention to detail with strong levels of accuracy
- Excellent customer focus skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; good at building professional relationships at all levels
