Harvey Nichols is seeking an exceptional Sous Chef – Pastry to join the acclaimed brigade at the iconic OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar & Brasserie. A landmark on London’s Southbank, OXO is celebrated for its innovative cuisine, creative artistry, and unforgettable skyline views. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead and elevate the pastry offering within one of the capital’s most renowned culinary destinations.
About the Role
As our Sous Chef – Pastry, you will play a key leadership role within the pastry team, supporting the Head Pastry Chef in driving creativity, excellence, and consistency across all pastry and dessert operations. You will:
Lead the day-to-day running of the pastry section, ensuring smooth, efficient service
Prepare, produce, and present refined pastries and desserts to the highest standards
Collaborate closely with the Head Pastry Chef on menu development, seasonal concepts, and innovative ideas
Uphold OXO’s reputation for beautifully executed, modern, and elegant pastry work
Train, motivate, and support junior pastry chefs, nurturing skill development and team growth
Maintain exceptional kitchen organisation, hygiene, and compliance with all food safety standards
Contribute to operational planning, stock control, and ordering
Demonstrate leadership, commitment, and flexibility — especially during busy evening and weekend services
Is this you?
You are a dedicated and ambitious pastry professional with the creative flair and technical skill to help lead a high-performing team. You will bring:
Experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie looking to step up
A deep passion for patisserie, flavour development, modern techniques, and impeccable presentation
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support others
A collaborative, positive approach and the drive to maintain the highest standards under pressure
