Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for an experienced Tailor to join the team in London – Knightsbridge. Our culture is based on inclusivity; we embrace diversity. About the role…

As a Tailor  you will ensure excellent customer service is delivered and garments are altered to a high standard and on time. You will maintain a sound understanding of garment construction and work with challenging fabrics.

What you will be doing

  • Fitting men’s and ladies’ garments
  • Completing alteration work timely and by due date and time
  • Filling in alteration dockets with pricing and concise instructions
  • Updating and completing weekly worksheet
  • Returning altered garments to the Quality Control rail
  • Handling customer queries and complaints, where necessary
  • Book in garments to be altered, when needed
  • Answer telephone, when needed

Key Skills

  • Thorough understanding of garment construction
  • High standard of machine and hand sewing
  • Knowledge of alterations and pressing
