STORE DETECTIVE - MANCHESTER

Harvey Nichols are on the look out for an experienced Store Detective to join our team in our Manchester Store.

As the new Store Detectives you will assist in the prevention and detection of theft in the store and to protect the Company assets, reducing losses wherever possible. To monitor and maintain the Security Procedures to protect the Company assets and employees, and reduce losses wherever possible. To conduct internal investigations as instructed.

About the role…

  • To maintain a safe working environment for those within the store, for staff, customers and contractors.
  • To provide a courteous and efficient service to both internal and external customers to the department at all times.
  • To uphold the Company’s policies and procedures in all security related matters and to report any breaches in Company policy or procedure to line management.
  • Conduct investigations as directed, into all suspected criminal offences, in accordance with Company policy.  Collect all evidence relevant to an investigation.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal professional knowledge relating to Criminal Law, Court Procedures and Security Equipment.
  • Assist in training of employees to increase their level of awareness in stock loss prevention, credit card fraud and emergency procedures.
  • To conduct periodic and random searches of employees and contractors possessions within the company’s policies.
  • To provide a fair and consistent level of enforcement of all policies and to represent the Company in a professional manner, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • To maintain and promote the credibility of the department at all times, building good working relationships with both internal and external clients / customers.
  • To identify and advise management of any possible stock loss risks or best practice in loss prevention.
  • To detect, apprehend and detain persons responsible for stealing company property, cash and/or merchandise, protecting company property from theft and following company policy and procedures in the conviction of individuals.
  • To maintain a safe working environment for those working within the store and to ensure the security of merchandise and premises at all times.
  • To be conversant with the Company’s emergency procedures.

Is this you?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Store Detective gained in a similar luxury environment preferably within the retail industry.

  • Current SIA licence preferred.
  • Understanding of current legislation.
