We are now looking for an experienced Retail Director who loves all things luxury. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the store retail, private shopping and hospitality operations; to deliver sales and margin targets through the consistent delivery of exceptional customer experience and operational excellence.You will help reinforce the brand and ensuring we are at the forefront of luxury and retail. Through your strong leadership you will motivate, train and develop your direct reports, lead and inspire best-in-class store teams and nurture a performance culture. You will be an ambassador for staff development , encouraging and supporting the progression of people as well as being an ambassador for Harvey Nichols externally. You will also be an active and effective member of the Management Board.

What you will be doing:

  • Direct and motivate the Store Managers to deliver profitable sales in line with agreed budget.
  • Ensure efficient and effective processes and practices in store to minimise costs and maximise store contribution.
  • Implement Group wide solutions when commercially and operationally viable.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Profit Protection Plan at all times, that delivers additional sales and cost savings, not included in the budget.
  • Focus store teams on conversion and ATV KPIs.
  • Work with Finance to agree annual budgets and in year reforecasts.
  • Work closely Buying Directors and Heads of to deliver effective brand/product launches, events, promotions and sales.
  • Optimise the use of staff incentives/ commission to drive customer sales and motivate individuals and teams.
  • Ensure the highest and consistent delivery of customer service across all areas of the store.
  • Lead initiatives and activities to constantly elevate customer service
  • Through the Group Head of Private Shopping ensure HN delivers a world class private shopping experience
  • Ensure store standards are consistently maintained to ensure HN presents its stores, products and services to the highest standards.
  • Lead by example to ensure optimal brand partner relationships are maintained at store level.  
  • Introduce Operational audits to ensure compliance and improve and monitor all FOH and BOH standards.
  • Ensure compliance across training and activity for: Licencing, Allergens, GDPR, Money Laundering, Hygiene, Health, Fire and Safety, National Living Wage

A bit about your experience:

  • Successfully held a Regional Manager or Retail Director role ideally in retail luxury fashion
  • Extensive experience of leading large teams to deliver
  • Proven track record of delivering against growth targets and hitting KPI's
  • Previous experience of developing P&L's, budgets and forecasts
