Ensure all month end journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis. Liaise with each of the sites, head office merchandisers, purchase ledger, sales ledger and finance department colleagues.
Responsible for the calculation and analysis of fashion, food and hospitality sales and margins for the stores and restaurants. Provide commentary and variance analysis for sales and margins in the monthly management accounts.
Responsible for the calculation and analysis of Farfetch month end postings and monthly reconciliation to Farfetch reporting on trade performance
Prepare Daily and Weekly Sales Trade Reporting and publishing to the wider business. Responsible for investigating any system discrepancies with IT to ensure accurate reporting.
Work closely with the Merchandisers and Hospitality Managers to provide accurate financial analysis and reporting
Prepare and distribute a detailed monthly breakdown of food & hospitality sales & margins and profits to all hospitality managers. Investigate variances and respond to queries as appropriate.
Work closely with the General Managers, Cost Controllers, and other business functions to provide financial analysis and reporting
Account for all stock movements and ensure the accuracy of all stock information in the general ledger.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are reconciled monthly, with issues resolved on a timely basis.
Provide information required for the year-end audit with explanations of movements, trends, and large/unusual variances, with support from managers.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly management pack.
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts.
To work closely with the Financial Accounts Manager and Group Accountant in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax computations.
To support in the preparation the quarterly UK VAT return and bi-monthly Irish VAT return and reconciliation of the VAT balance sheet accounts.
To develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the operations of the business and the activities of other departments within the business.
To plan and organise any other ad-hoc projects and take on any additional month end responsibilities as required by the Financial Accounts Manager.
A bit about your experience
Qualified / Part-qualified and studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Strong PC skills, particularly Excel (Intermediate to Advanced desirable)
Retail experience would be advantageous
