LEAD DEVELOPER - FRONT END, CHISWICK/ HOME BASED, WEST LONDON.

We require a talented and motivated individual to lead the Harvey Nichols front-end development team. This will be hands-on role as well as handling all line management aspects for the front-end developers.

What you will be doing:

  • Manager and mentor to front-end developers
  • Working with peers and senior IT management, you will be responsible for the technical architecture for the Harvey Nichols website
  • Develop, deploy and maintain code for the Harvey Nichols website
  • Champion all relevant QA processes and principles
  • Proactively encourage the documentation of solutions and processes
  • Support incidents, problems and requests
  • Providing training for end users when required
  • Support project delivery
  • Contributing to regular code reviews
  • Managing and maintaining CDN configuration

A bit about your experience:

  • Expert using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript using React and Redux libraries
  • Experience with NextJS
  • Experience working with Progressive Web Applications (PWA) and mobile optimisation
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Strong knowledge of CDNs
  • Extremely confident working with APIs and complex integrations
  • Experience with headless architecture
  • Previous experience in ecommerce is essential

A bit about you:

  • Able to confidently communicate with internal stakeholders at all levels; ability to present is desirable. Must be able to show leadership skills and good team communications.
  • Manage workload between projects and business as usual support tickets. A “No task is above me” attitude is a must.
  • Liaising with third parties internally and externally to discuss integration of the product.
  • Non-technical skills required are being a collaborative team player, can-do attitude, ability to work independently or as part of a team, approachable and pragmatic. 
  • Must have a natural thirst for technology and anything digital, as part of your role is to evolve the company’s digital landscape.
