As the new Junior Sous Chef, you will work 40 hours a week in our Restaurant located on the 5th floor in Harvey Nichols.

About the role…

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be helping prepare food for our customers and make their eating experience with us a memorable 5* experience. You will:

  • Help in the design, testing, and implementation of the food
  • Produce high-quality plates for customers in both design and taste.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, supplier relationships, and management of supplies.
  • Ensure that food is high quality, and that kitchen is in good, clean, and hygienic condition.
  • Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance, menu options, and service levels.
  • Monitor and maintain the kitchen equipment, and arrange repairs and service as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Strong leadership skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience of supervising a team to reach agreed standards.
  • Ability to coach and encourage others.
  • Experience of managing resources to meet demand and eliminate waste.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • To consistently produce fresh dishes of a high standard to grow and develop the reputation of the business.
  • To lead by example and maintain the standards set and the daily function of the kitchen.
  • To agree the distribution of tasks amongst the team and support one another in the absence of the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to maintain the efficient running of the kitchen.
  • To encourage and coach other members of the kitchen team.
