As Junior Merchandiser you will ensure the trading performance of our third party relationship, HN Hampers & Gifting, Food and Wines & Spirits – the Buying departments - is realised through sales, stock & profit analysis and interpretation on an on-going basis. You will ensure full net profit potential of product areas is realised by working closely with the Buying departments.
What you'll be doing:
Review the Buying departments weekly (Monday morning) Sales / Stock Reports and Category Sales/Margin Reports
Analyse the Buying departments sales and stock positions. Present and review weekly with Buying teams in order to make informed decisions concerning new purchases, repeats, cancellations, allocations and transfer of stock
Work closely with the Buying departments to ensure the best range of own label products is available to Ocado at all times.
Manage all aspects of stock availability and compliance relative to products offered to Ocado
Establish weekly sales tracker by department, sub-category & sku
Establish weekly suggested order spreadsheet to ensure optimum stock holding / weeks cover at all times
Review Net Achievable Margin (NAM) performance and investigate any deviations from the plan for review with the key stakeholders within the Buying departments.
Support the Buying departments with the development and maintenance of the own label food range taking into account systems, processes, suppliers, competitors and stores.
Develop and maintain accurate store merchandising plans for each store to assist the Buying departments with range forecasting and space planning
Prepare and plan seasonal sales (full price and markdown), terminal stocks and calculate seasonal range reviews together with the Buying departments.
About your experience:
Experience of working in a Food Buying / Merchandising discipline
Experience in Food / Packaging planning and forecasting
Good understanding of supply chain processes and responsibilities across all food categories but in particular – own label food
Good administrative skills gained in a similar office environment
Good IT skills (MS Office, Excel, Retail analysis systems)
