We are seeking for a Junior Buyer to join our Buying Menswear Team.
As a Junior Buyer you will resource, recommend and buy an appropriate merchandise range for assigned department to meet agreed sales, stock, mark-down and profit targets in line with the overall Company buying strategy and to provide secondary support to the buyer across all relevant functions.
What you will be doing
Work on building a thorough knowledge of existing and potential brands at home and overseas and build successful relationships with suppliers through regular and effective communication
Regularly review each individual market, closely monitoring competitor’s activity and trends within product area
Develop negotiation skills working closely with buyer, to establish the best possible terms to provide planned gross margins and stock turn
Build independent relationships with wider team to improve and influence sales performance
Support buyer to prepare and present seasonal financial and brand plans to the Buying Director, in preparation for the seasonal Range Review to the CEO and Board
Skills and experience you need
You will have a previous experience as Assistant Buyer
You will have a previous experience in Luxury fashion
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
You will have strong attention to detail
You will have excellent organisational and planning skills and ability to work tight deadline
You will have good knowledge of PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
You are good at building professional relationship at all levels
You are confident dealing with queries at all levels
You have strong fashion knowledge
You have a “can do it” attitude
