As Head of Commercial you will lead, develop and implement the strategy of the activities driving customer traffic and sales to Harvey Nichols through both offline and online channels.

This role will be integral in helping Harvey Nichols achieve stretch sales targets across the group.

In addition, you will be an integral part of the team setting commercial goals across the business, this would include collaborating with the buying team, F&B, brand marketing and e-commerce.

You will manage a team of highly talented individuals across varying disciplines, drive a high level of team collaboration and focus on commercial initiatives that will drive efficiencies and results across the business.

Your knowledge of a multi layered partnership approach with global partners who can move the dial on our business, will be critical to the success of this newly created role.

You will help position Harvey Nichols as the leading department store in each of our cities of operation.



  •  Leading the strategic approach to all external and internal commercial activities responsible for driving customer traffic and sales.
  •  Developing a streamlined, coordinated, cross discipline approach to both existing and future partnerships.
  •  Managing budgets and ensuring the achievement of company sales targets.
  •  Undertaking a full review of the existing partnership portfolio, the current sales approach and prioritise those channels that will deliver the best ROI to the business.
  •  Maximise revenue generating opportunities within the existing portfolio of partnerships.
  •  Work with the team to build an exciting and game changing, future pipeline of partnerships opportunities.
  •  Focus on major global partners to drive high level and high visibility partnerships
  •  Collaborate with all internal stakeholders to ensure they are all bought into the strategic approach. This will include, but not limited to, Marketing, Ecommerce, Retail, Finance, IT, F&B and Operations.
  •  Collaborate with all Store Directors to understand their specific business needs and requirements from the Commercial team.
  •  Develop an international strategy to incorporate Harvey Nichols stores in the Middle East and Hong Kong into the global commercial strategy.
  •  Implement an agreed business case structure that will expedite the implementation of new commercial partnerships.
  •  Develop and implement a sales training program for all team members.
  •  Network at a senior level across all commercial partnership segments.
  •  Build a calendar of networking events to attend through relevant associations and industries to improve speed to market and raise awareness of Harvey Nichols.
  •  Review and update the existing menu of calls to action and sales tools.

  • Significant previous experience in a senior commercial role.
  • Proven success in creating, managing and mentoring diverse and multi discipline teams.
  • Demonstrable track record of working with major global organisations and developing multi layered partnership programs.
  • A track record of managing teams to deliver exceptional sales growth against KPI’s.
  • Experience of managing significant marketing budgets.
  • A strong network of contacts at a senior level, in all of the above mentioned segments.
  • Knowledge of the premium retail sector.
  • Good working knowledge of the MICE and Corporate sector.
  • Experience of working with multiple sectors to develop commercial partnerships, including but not limited to, tourism, airlines, hospitality and the financial sector.
  • Preferably has worked for organisations with a global footprint and multiple operational locations.
