About the role…

As Group Compliance Manager you will lead the development and delivery of an effective compliance programme across the Group, ensuring all employees and key stakeholders act in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory obligations and internal policies and procedures.  The roles and responsibilities in this Group Compliance Manager include:-

  • Lead the development and delivery of an effective compliance programme across the Group, incorporating key compliance areas that impact Harvey Nichols:
    • AML
    • Anti-bribery and corruption
    • Criminal Finances
    • Fraud
    • Modern slavery
    • Whistleblowing
    • Licensing
    • Complaints
    • HR – recruitment, payroll
    • Supplier compliance
    • ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance)
    • GDPR & Privacy regulations
  • Develop, implement and enforce operational policies and procedures (including those relating to risk management) to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations, and monitor ongoing compliance thereof
  • Work closely with senior managers across HN and the Head of HR and L & D Manager to establish and execute compliance training programmes
  • Provide regulatory advice and guidance to the business on all compliance-related matters
  • Embed a compliance culture across HN that is aligned to our core values
  • Own the HN risk management framework: Identify, assess, manage, report on and monitor compliance risks across all Group business activities, ensuring adequate and effective controls are in place
  • Work closely with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer to identify and understand the Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing threats to HN and put effective processes and guidance in place to mitigate them.
  • Assess HN future business initiatives and projects to identify possible compliance risks
  • Keep abreast of new legislation and regulatory requirements that apply to HN, and review and assess the impact of these, liaising with regulators and industry and government bodies where necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular compliance reports to the Risk Committee
  • Collaborate with external auditors where required
  • Complete audit across key risk areas in the business.

As part of this role, you will also be responsible for overseeing all Group insurance matters.

Is this you? 

We are looking for individuals who embrace diversity, love a challenge, are passionate about luxury retail and are looking for something uniquely different.  Do you have:

  • Law degree or accounting qualification, or equivalent compliance certification
  • Proven compliance professional with significant relevant experience, ideally gained within retail or e-commerce sectors
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Proven experience of engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven experience of contract management
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of data protection laws is advantageous
