We are seeking an exceptional Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets) to join our Finance team and to support the team across a range of business and finance areas.
As a Financial Accountant you will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset registers for all sites, overseeing the cash to sales receipts analysis for various Harvey Nichols sites and performing the relevant balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis. Also responsible for the invoicing and monitoring of the Harvey Nichols International stores. In addition, preparation of VAT returns, annual statutory accounts and tax computations for Harvey Nichols companies.
What you will be doing
Develop and maintain the fixed asset registers across the group on a monthly basis
Reconciliation of the fixes asset registers to general ledger on a monthly basis
Responsible for bank, credit card, petty cash and till float balance reconciliations
To work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager and Group Accountant in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax computations
To support in the preparation the quarterly UK VAT return and bi-monthly Irish VAT return and reconciliation of the VAT balance sheet accounts
Skills and experience you need
You are Qualified / Part qualified and studying towards an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
You have proven experience of working in a large finance department
You have an advanced level in Excel
You have strong written communication and analytical skills
You have previous experience in retail sector
You are a confident communicator, both written and verbal
You have an excellent work ethic and ability to multitask
You are a positive and friendly person
You have a can-do attitude
