FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - CASH TO SALES, CHISWICK/ HOME BASED, WEST LONDON.
You will be responsible for overseeing the cash to sales receipts analysis for various Harvey Nichols sites. You will also be responsible for posting & analysis of some store & Head Office costs, including calculation of accruals and prepayments. Preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis. In addition preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax computations for Harvey Nichols companies.
What you will be doing:
Compilation of monthly Sales Receipt Analysis prepared by the sites’ cash offices and posting to the general ledger. To liaise with the cash offices and other personnel where necessary to investigate discrepancies on their submitted Sales Receipt Analysis.
To be responsible for bank, credit card, petty cash and till float balance reconciliations.
Reconciliation of bank accounts held for the receipt of credit card monies and posting entries to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Regular liaison with store personnel from various sites in order to provide assistance with credit card matters. Also to pro-actively liaise with both the IT department and the external credit card acquirer as required to resolve issues on a timely basis.
Responsible for the reconciliation of function debtor accounts across the sites and regular liaison with accounts receivable team and sites to resolve issues, ensure invoices have been raised and settlement received.
Monitor chargebacks for relevant sites and liaise with sites to obtain more details for management pack commentary. Update the internal auditor on material and recurring chargebacks.
Ensure all month end cost journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis for store establishment costs and finance managed head office departments.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis, with issues resolved on a timely basis.
To support the Financial Analyst in preparation of balance sheet related schedules including prepayments and accruals analysis and significant debtors and creditors analysis.
To work closely with the Financial Accounts Manager and Group Accountant in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax computations.
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly management pack.
To plan and organise any other ad-hoc projects and take on any additional month end responsibilities as required by the Financial Accounts Manager.
To develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the operations of the business and the activities of other departments within the business.
A bit about your experience:
Qualified / Part-qualified and studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Strong PC skills, particularly Excel (Intermediate to Advanced desirable)
Retail experience would be advantageous
