The primary role is to support and develop the Harvey Nichols data transformation systems and integrations. Ensure transactional data interfacing is robust, modern and built with accuracy, stability and performance in mind.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support existing ETL processes running in production.
  • Build secure, performant and robust solutions which comply with existing and emerging standards, be they internal or external in nature;
  • Ensure deployed solutions are future proofed and documented;
  • Liaising with users, analysing existing systems with a view to specifying changes to solutions, or business process in particular relation to data transmission, manipulation and storage;
  • Understand, recommend and adjust non-technical processes which support accurate and timely data processing such as master data techniques;
  • Recommend 3rd party solutions which fit the needs of the department according to specific requirements, with an active consideration of the state of the art;
  • Reviewing 3rd party solutions on behalf of other department members, assessing them for both technical and business suitability incorporating existing or new technologies;
  • Hands on deployment, support and maintenance of all and any system within the job holder’s influence;
  • Day-to-day management and maintenance of systems as needed;
  • Ensuring that budgets are adhered to and deadlines met;
  • Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments and where appropriate appraise users and colleagues of these developments.

About your experience:

  • Previous experience in the data warehouse or development space
  • Experience with storage technologies such as (but not limited to) MSSQL, Azure datawarhouse, NoSQL, MySQL
  • Data transformation technologies; Azure Data Factory, logstash, filebeat MuleSoft, CE, SSIS or similar ETL and ELT technologies
  • Extensive T-SQL knowledge for data manipulation and extraction
  • Experience building data pipelines and putting models into production
  • Use Agile methodology Agile (Scrum)
  • DevOps delivery and support techniques
  • Cloud platforms, preferably Azure
  • API, HTTP request and similar transfer methods
