Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for a new Department Manager to join our thriving Foodmarket & Deli Cafe in our Manchester Store. About the role…

As Department Manager, you will be leading a team of Sales Consultants to help them provide a fun and enjoyable 5* experience. You will work closely with your team, helping them to be the best they can be. You will:

  • Maximise sales by staying abreast of market trends and customer expectations. 
  • Ensure the Foodmarket, Wineshop and Deli Café meets sales targets through effective business analysis and implementing sales methods where required 
  • Ensure that the Foodmarket and Wineshop is merchandised and ticketed to maximise impact in accordance with company standards. 
  • To work in conjunction with Head Office in regard to seasonal stock and hampers ensuring maximum sell through.  
  • To support set up and prepare the Cafe before service, ensuring all standards are adhered to.  
  • To ensure all staff compliance training is undertaken and recorded in-line with government and Food Safety legislation.  
  • To train and support staff in giving fast, efficient, and polite service to the maximum of their ability. 
  • To consider the customer's satisfaction at all times and to handle customer queries / complaints. 
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of the menus and be able to input with creation. 
  • To be aware of all security rules and regulations, not only within your own department but in Manchester Store as a whole. 
  • To carry out any other reasonable request as made by the senior management of the Manchester Store. 
  • To be proactive with the employee life cycle from recruitment to performance management.  
  • To identify training requirements, and to organise and follow through on ‘on-job’ training. 
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of Health and Safety Policy, and to ensure by good housekeeping that correct standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safely are adhered to. 
  • Flexibility is a must; customer service can’t wait during weekends and evenings!
