DATA PROTECTION LEAD - CHISWICK/ HOME BASED, WEST LONDON - 12 MONTH MATERNITY COVER
To undertake key responsibilities required by Harvey Nichols in its compliance with EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. This includes: ensuring all data asset registers are up to date; conducting data protection impact assessments; responding to business requests regarding the application of the legislation and monitoring compliance.
What you will be doing:
Oversee data subject access requests
Facilitate responding to alleged data breaches
Create and embed a Record of Processing Activities and Data Asset Register
Advise and support learning and development in the implementation of GDPR ways of working across the entire business
Conduct comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments
Give advice and recommendations to the business about the interpretation or application of the data protection rules;
Handle queries or complaints on request by the business on the application of the Data Protection Act 2018;
Create, implement and embed policy and processes that support the implementation of the Data Protection Act 2018 in Harvey Nichols.
Implement controls based on the results of the Privacy Impact Assessments.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the processing of personal data.
Manage Data Protection Agreements with third party data processors.
About your experience:
Strong prior experience as a Data Protection Lead/Manager.
Experience of developing and embedding a data privacy programme that ensures early and full business awareness and ownership of privacy risks.
Ability to translate technical and legal concepts to business areas.
Experience of influencing across business areas and working with key stakeholders as appropriate.
Expert knowledge of data protection law and practices, including:
Technical and organisational measures and procedures;
Privacy by design.
Industry specific knowledge in accordance with the sensitivity of the personal data processed;
The ability to carry out inspections, consultation, documentation and log file analysis.
