This managerial role is responsible for Data Custody and Business Intelligence capabilities.  Your primary role is to ensure Harvey Nichols is at the forefront of data and BI thinking.  This role maximises business value through the use, analysis of data to enable fast decision making. At the same time, ensuring that all data, especially personal data, is kept secure and reliably available inline with compoliance standrads and regulations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone currently working in a Business Intelligence role looking to take on accountability for an entire function (team of 4) and the impact it will have on our business.

What you will be doing:

  • You will understand, develop and evangelise commercial applications of data within the group
  • You will develop and implement data strategies; driving business decisions, forecasting, features and value from data;
  • You will design and implement data and BI services across all business channels, acting as a key point of contact for any changes;
  •  You will be responsible for IT Service management of data and BI services, raising and addressing issues as necessary;
  • You will implement and maintain complex dashboards and reports to allow the business to measure performance against the Company strategy and KPIs;
  • You will keep up to date with industry knowledge and identify opportunities for future development; research into products and technologies that will enhance the function or performance of systems;
  • You will ensure data is kept secure inline with compliance standards and regulations, such as GDPR
  • You will Lead Data governance including policies and processes for retention, master data definitions and hierarchies
  • You will coordinate data integration policies and processes, for execution by delivery teams

About your experience:

  • You have experience of effective people management;
  • You are able to understand business requirements and design and delivery solutions;
  • You have knowledge of Retail, Omni-channel, customer and Finance measures and KPIs;
  • You are well experienced in service / supplier management;
  • You have experience of successful budget management;
  • You have previous experience in designing and implementing data and BI services;
  • You have experience in debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting data and BI services;
  • You have a good understanding of relational database design principles;
  • You have previous experience in developing packages or other tools to implement Data Warehouse ETL processes;
  • You have the ability to multi-task, with a talent for handling several different projects concurrently;
  • You can demonstrate an ability to accurately estimate and scope development work;
  • You have knowledge of the BOARD MIT solution (Desireable);
  • You have knowledge of Corporae Performance Management (CPM) solutions e.g. AppDynamics;
  • You are GDPR compliant
