This role will suit someone who already has experience working in a Cash Office environment, ideally in retail to fully understand the requirements of a position such as this. The main aim of this role is to ensure that all daily takings are counted accurately and banked promptly and to ensure controls and procedures are adhered to, in order to minimise the risk of financial loss. It will require the successful person to also be able to train new starters on Till Procedures and the team on any changes to the till and system operation.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • To issue floats and takings bags each day for each till in the store.
  • To count and bank all takings on a daily basis, with 100% adherence to the cash office policies to minimise the risk of financial loss.
  • Issue cash advances, petty cash and foreign currency advances ensuring that all requests are authorised by the appropriate signatories and that the correct expense codes provided.
  • Reconcile cash office float and petty cash float on a daily basis completing safe checks and audits.
  • Highlight any variances and till discrepancies to the Customer Services Manager, who will issue till discrepancies forms to the relevant Sales Manager for investigation.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working in a cash handling environment.
  • Face to face customer service experience (desirable)
  • PC literate
  • Highly numerate
  • You will have good organisation skills
