Job Purpose

  • To be able to form stud walls.
  • To be able to construct temporary hoardings.
  • To be able to make adaptions to ceilings.
  • To be able to erect and dismantle shop fits.
  • To carry out all repairs and installations relating to carpentry as directed by the Department Manager.

Job Objectives

  • To ensure work is completed within the priorities set by the Department Manager and the Shopfittings, Fixtures and fittings in the Knightsbridge store are maintained to highest standards possible.
  • To maintain stock levels of the necessary fitting required for tasks to be completed in a timely manner.
  • To recognise and build key relationships internally and externally across the store and with contractors particularly with other senior personnel within the facilities team.
  • To take an active role in identifying, preventing and addressing any Health and Safety risks and hazards and ensure that all work completed is in line with current health & Safety requirements including the H.A.S.A.W.A Act, COSHH, EU Directives and company Health & Safety Procedures in their working practices.
  • To fully familiarise his/herself with all aspects of the Shop fitting systems, which are in place at Harvey Nichols.
  • To ensure that the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in the Knightsbridge Store is run to schedule as instructed by the Department Manager.
  • To report any defects found immediately to the Department Manager if this is likely to have an effect on the store or any H&S implications along with a clear method and timescale for repair.

Qualifications & Experience required

  • Formal City and Guilds in Carpentry or Joinery.
