Reporting directly to the Fashion Director this critical role will focus on the Group’s Menswear strategic direction and enhance external and internal communication between brands and stores and to be accountable for meeting planned profitability.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Buyer or a Buying Manager with experience of luxury brands looking to take on a challenge with autonomy and huge potential.
What you will be doing
You will work with the Group Fashion Buying Director and Buyers to define and deliver the Group stores strategy for Menswear and the Knightsbridge master plan, as well as defining and being accountable for the department parameters & targets and developing a brand portfolio that underpins HN values to deliver the required profit.
You will develop within the Merchandising and Buying teams a trading culture to facilitate a dynamic approach to the HN business and produce optimum brand strategy.
You will create the new and different – to come up with the next great breakthrough, to bring exciting ideas to market and envision multiple futures. To remain abreast of developing product trends through travel to cultural events, press, exhibitions, trade shows and attendance of seasonal catwalk shows to provide the necessary background for Menswear market and merchandising policy.
TYou will maintain effective communication with stores through regular liaison and visits (including to deliver training) to all regional stores; present trends on a seasonal basis and implement sales and brand strategies to maximum effect, focusing on areas of business which need special attention in order to drive sales.
You will support Buying teams in negotiating favourable terms with brands/suppliers and further develop Brand Incentive Planning, e.g. Profit guarantees, markdown support, vendor funded staffing, marketing support (i.e. Edit and events), settlement discounts, trade discounts and pre-ticketing. Accountable for defining the relationships with the brands/suppliers and setting expected standards of service from HN Menswear buying teams
You will support and coach your team to ensure selection is made within the agreed parameters of quality, price, fashionability and mix.
You will work with the Multichannel team to develop the online strategy, range building and trading in season.
You will meeet with suppliers to ensure mutual support and partnership or deputise for Group Fashion Buying Director in brand meetings where necessary.
You will inspire others through motivational and inspirational leadership. Galvanise the team and develop a shared mission and culture to achieve success. Accountable for driving the performance of the team and setting standards and clear objectives.
You will assist the Management Board to define the Company’s Customer Service Strategy with a view to continually improving the customers’ experience.

You will have extensive experience of buying luxury Menswear brands.
You will have an understanding of the Harvey Nichols brand and direction.
You will have experience of analysing store, economic and market data.
You will have experience in a strategic Buying role.
