BUSINESS ANALYST - RETAIL

As a Business Analyst (BA) you will be responsible for gathering and understanding the business needs for a specific project and change initiative. You will then work with the wider Project team to ensure your deliverables are completed in line with the agreed timescales.  You will also be expected to work with the rest of the IT team to help shape IT strategy that ensures we deliver IT solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity.

What you will be doing:

• Liaising extensively with users, analysing existing systems with a view to writing,  modifying or specifying changes to 3rd party solutions;
• Translating user requirements into functional design specifications and business process documentation;
• Writing specifications for software and system development both for internal and 3rd party suppliers;
• Reviewing 3rd party solutions assessing them for both technical and business suitability incorporating existing or new technologies;
• Ensuring any new solution fully integrates  with the existing systems;
• Overseeing the implementation of any new system or upgrades; providing technical support to both internal users and 3rd parties ensuring the solution fully meet user requirements and is delivered within timescales and to budget;
• Preparing documentation and presenting progress reports to customers both written and orally;
• Drawing up a testing schedule for the complete system;
• Providing appropriate user documentation;
• Providing training to users of any new or existing systems;
• Ensuring users fully utilize system functionality;
• Monitoring and managing data integrity;
• Monitoring of 3rd party providers ensuring they adhere to agreed service levels;
• Ensuring that budgets are adhered to and deadlines met;
• Helping users with change-management activities;
• Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments and where appropriate appraise users and colleagues of these developments.

A bit about your experience:

• Retail experience is essential 
• Previous experience in a Business Analyst role
• Working experience with project and analysis techniques and supporting tools for requirement definition and documentation
• Use of waterfall project methodology (Prince2) or Agile (Scrum)
• Experience in Business Process mapping
• Ideally have retail experience with In-depth commercial knowledge of at least one business area MMS, WMS, Ecommerce or BI
