Our Second Floor boasts a Fine Dining Restaurant and a Cocktail Bar offering exceptional food and drink.The Second Floor Bar offers a seasonally changing drinks list, with a selection of wines and Champagnes as well as a tempting food menu. 


We are looking for a Bar Manger to join our team on a fixed term contract starting from March.  You will manage the day to day running of the Bar and implement strategies, policies, procedures and services which ensure maximum profitability whilst delivering an outstanding customer experience at all times.


  • Ensure that all staff have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all items listed on the menus and wine list.
  • Produce well structured wine, bar, and cocktail lists ensuring vintages and prices are correct.
  • Ensure that all Hospitality FOH staff have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all items stocked in the Bar.
  • Ensure full compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Ensure that a base of regular customers is rapidly established and maintained by personal contact and customer recognition.
  • Handle customer complaints efficiently and promptly and discuss any unsatisfactorily resolved complaints with the Retail Operations Manager.
  • Prepare staff rotas and ensure adequate staff cover at all times.
  • Ensure that training is carried out according to prepared schedules and that records are kept up to date of these training sessions.
  • Oversee the control of stocks of liquor, cleaning materials, stationery etc.  To liaise with the appropriate buyer of all items to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained in line with budget set.
  • Assist in the interpretation and analysis of weekly and monthly accounts and to take prompt action to rectify problem areas.
  • Recruitment of all new front of house staff for the Bar.
  • Ensure that you and your team are fully compliant with the Companies Health & Safety Policy, and ensure that correct standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are adhered to in the Bar.
  • Identify and implement new business opportunities.
  • Effectively market the function using the in-house Press & Marketing Manager and external agencies where appropriate, planning specific promotions and events.
