Job Objectives

• To carry out all duties as assigned by the Bar Manager.
• To oversee the smooth running of the Bar to include overseeing the preparation prior to service, overseeing the service and supervising after service duties.
• To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all items listed on the menus and to pass on this information correctly to staff and customers, giving advice and guidance when necessary.
• To maximise sales by being able to make informed recommendations and suggestions to customers.
• To greet customers and to ensure that a base of regular customers is rapidly recognised and maintained by personal contact and customer recognition.
• To consider the satisfaction of all customers by ensuring prompt, courteous and efficient service at all times.
• To handle customer complaints efficiently and promptly within the guidelines laid down by the manager and to refer serious complaints to the Bar Manager/Hospitality Manager.
• To take customer orders and to operate the Mission ordering system efficiently.
• To ensure that all bills are presented to customers promptly by bartenders and to ensure that cashing up procedures are executed to the agreed standards by the bartenders.
• To ensure that al the equipment, crockery, glassware, linen etc. is properly looked after and kept to the required level of cleanliness and hygiene.  To inform the Bar Manager of equipment and stock levels on a regular basis.
• To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety amongst the bar staff, ensuring dress code and cleaning schedules are followed at all times.
• To be aware of and to ensure that all bar staff are aware of and adhere to security regulations relating to the bar and Store as a whole.
• To be familiar with and to ensure that all bar staff are familiar with Harvey Nichols Health and Safety Policy and to ensure that correct standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are adhered to in the bars.
• To create rotas and correctly input them onto Carval, completing time and attendance in line with payroll cut off dates.
• Assist in the creation and training of new cocktails.
• To carry out any other duties as designated by the Bar Manager.
