ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSISTANT - KNIGHTSBRIDGE

 

To ensure that all documents relating to the ledger are efficiently and accurately processed to effect payments to suppliers within agreed terms and settlement discounts taken, as well as updating purchases.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • To deal with the Luxury Fashion Brand suppliers
  • To match supplier invoices against the GRN’s on the “Merret Stock Management System” and supplier packing notes
  • To batch, code and input invoices onto the system and scan all posted documents
  • To liaise with suppliers, warehouse and other members of staff to resolve queries and raise debit notes as appropriate
  • To deal with stock discrepancies by liaising with the warehouse staff and the merchandising department in order to trace stock
  • To reconcile supplier statements daily
  • To correspond with Italian speaking suppliers to clear debt or balances for monies owed
  • To arrange weekly payment by BACS
  • To work on clearing the unapproved invoice report, GRNI report and debit note
  • Responsible for the archiving of documentation at the end of the financial year
  • Ensuring all month end and year end processes are completed
  • To perform any relevant other duties as requested by management.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Experience in accounts payable essential
  • Must be able to work with foreign currencies
  • An understanding of basic accounting procedures
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels by email, fax and letter
  • PC literate with experience of Word and Excel, including knowledge on how to create basic spreadsheets
  • Previous experience of dealing with foreign suppliers an advantage
