Describe your current role and who you work with

I am the pastry chef at Harvey Nichols Birmingham, I collaborate with my other team members to create menus that excite and do not disappoint.

I work with my head chef, sous chef and another 4 chefs, we are a small group of chefs here but we work like a family helping each other and making this a kitchen you love to work in.

What’s the best thing about working at Harvey Nichols?

I have never worked in a place where everyone is so inviting and welcoming from every department! The kitchen works with other departments to inspire us with dishes, the staff discounts are pretty inviting too!

What’s your favourite part of your role?

My favourite part of my role is the food. We produce everything fresh in store and we have a creative team so we are forever experimenting with new ideas!

What gets you up in the mornings?

Other than my alarm clock, the team at Harvey Nichols is like a family not just colleagues. Some days it doesn't even feel like a job working with friends and creating food you love I'd do any day of the week!

What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done in your role?

I always love meeting suppliers and other chefs who want to get involved in what we're doing

Describe a typical day in your role

A typical day within my role involves setting up the kitchen for me and the other chefs. Packing away the delivery and starting my MEP sheet for the day, then we serve the dishes during lunch service and continue to prepare dishes.
