ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR RETAIL APPRENTICESHIP

Want to kick-start your career in retail and learn from the best of them? This April, after much anticipation, recruitment for our Retail Apprenticeship programme has officially started! We asked Apprenticeship Advisor Gillian to give you the scoop on this exciting luxury retailer milestone that is one of its kind in London.
 

What’s the Harvey Nichols retail apprenticeship about?
Our Retail Apprenticeship is about developing all the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in the retail environment. Whilst working from our legendary Knightsbridge store in different fashion and beauty departments, apprentices will be set up with all the necessary qualities to make it in the industry. The programme is unique in the sense that it is a home-grown apprenticeship and we are the only luxury retailer in the city offering this opportunity!
 

What will apprentices be doing during the programme?
Our varied programme allows our apprentices to develop themselves in a broad sense. This already starts with our company induction - where candidates learn about the Harvey Nichols group and where they fit in – to them being trained in financial responsibilities, stock control, communicating with colleagues and customers, and everything in between. Work days on the shop floor are alternated with off-site days and classroom days, as well as with shadowing other teams in a variety of departments. Lastly, we will be hosting retail experts from across the industry for personal training sessions with our apprentices!
 

Want does it take to succeed?
We are looking for apprentices who are fearless and not afraid to bring their personalities to work.
 

Who can apply?
Anyone can apply. The programme is open to anyone over 16, who is willing to learn while they are employed.
 

What does the recruitment process look like?
The recruitment process starts with a telephone interview, followed by an assessment in an assessment centre. If successful, the candidate will then be invited back for a 1-2-1 interview, where they will also be asked to complete another initial assessment process.
