Geraldine Boylan joined Harvey Nichols 13 years ago, amidst excitement of Harvey Nichols coming to Dublin. She now works as a Retail Manager and shares what it's like to work for Harvey Nichols in the suburb of Dublin.
Why Harvey Nichols?
I started with Harvey Nichols 13 years ago, there was so much excitement about Harvey Nichols coming to Ireland. We stand out as the number one luxury retailer in Dundrum. The people are what makes Harvey Nichols great. We work well together and are one big happy family. We are driven and passionate and make sure we put our customers first.
What is the best thing about working at Harvey Nichols?
The benefits and discounts we have. I am a huge fashion and accessories fan. Working at Harvey Nichols has fuelled this as we are the trend setters.
What's your favourite part of the role?
Interacting with staff and customers. I have been here since the opening. Seeing the business grow as well as getting to know the customers on a personal level has been a real high for me.
What's the most exciting thing you have done in your role?
I loved expanding the Beauty Floor and acquiring up and coming brands that make us stand out from our competition.
Describe a typical day?
First we go through the previous day figures with the team and then we look at the targets and tasks for the day ahead. Following that I have meetings with the Area Managers, Press and Marketing to make sure I am aware of up and coming launches and events.
What are you looking forward to most for Harvey Nichols in 2018?
I can't wait for the Reward App to come to Dublin and I'm looking forward to getting more execiting brands on board, such as Fenty. Also, looking at the success of HERO [a digital style advising app which allows us to chat with our customers] so far, we are all excited to be able to interact with customers and to drive sales in a new way.
